Organised by the Civil Service Motoring Association and held on army land at Bagshot Heath, this proved to be an excellent trial.

Although a 4 stroke-only trial, the GRA was well-represented by riders on machines other than Greeves. Martin Kemp was riding a very fine Matchless and then there was the ‘The 3 Enfield Mouseketeers’, messrs Dick Faggetter, Chris Brown and myself. There may well have been others.

The Telford Classic Off Road and Road race show – the largest racing show in Europe, is upon us! Morecombe “missile” John Mcguiness 19 times a TT winner and current lap record holder is the star guest.

Despite only being a relatively small-scale show, the quality of stands and exhibits had to be seen to be believed. Although not an official GRA event, it might as well have been judging by the number of GRA members present!

Held on Sunday, 2nd December, on a frosty but dry day, this turned out to be an excellent event. Even more Greeves turned up than were in the programme and at some of the sections, so many were parked about the place that it could have been 50 years ago!

Just a bit of an early warning. Thames MCC are running their annual Mike Kemp Classic trial at Hungry Hill on December 30th. This is another event at which the GRA are actively encouraging Greeves owners to get out on that bike! Note it says the easy route will be easier than last year! Having ridden myself last year, I can only say that will be no bad thing!

Held over the weekend 14 – 16th September 2012, this event again featured a scramble following the success of last year. Better positioned and with a longer track, the action was organised by the Mortimer Classic MCC.

Book review

'Out FRONT' and OUT NOW!! New motocross book from Panther Publishing. I now have a copy of 'Out Front', just arrived and have only had a quick glance at it. However, I can confirm that it is excellent! It is written quite differently to Paul Stephen's book. His is written by year, well supported by pictures. 'Out Front' is written on the basis of a biography for each of the stars featured.

Alan Wright’s Classic Offroad Show report

Alan Wright’s Classic Offroad Show, held at the International Centre, Telford over the weekend 13/14th February more than lived up to expectations. The three exhibition halls were packed with machinery on display, club and trade stands together with assorted autojumble, not to mention various event organisers. For those heroic enough to brave the elements, there was also a carpark at the front of the buildings devoted to yet more autojumble.

Telford Off-Road Show to see unveiling of new Greeves trials machine

Richard Deal is again unveiling his latest 'new Greeves' at Alan Wright’s Telford Classic Off-road Show. This will be a heavily modified version of the bike revealed at the same event last year. During the past 12 months, a number of the criticisms have been re-worked and improved. An example is the new position of the fuel tank, now mounted behind the gearbox.
