The Greeves Scrambles Series 2017

Mortimer team race from last year, last session exiting the woods with me on board for “Greeves and Mortimer”

All of the Pre65 Motorcycle Club rounds will be championship rounds EXCEPT the Christmas Cracker and INCLUDING the Sunday of the new two day meeting at Benington Lordship Herts.

We kick off with Marks Tey on the 26th March and then four on the bounce with Maylandsea, Sproxton, Maylandsea and Mortimer on consecutive weekends. (This will Keep Terry Sewell of TDS Busy with spares J )

We will do Both Northampton Classic MCC rounds Sproxton and Woodford both great racing tracks and events, so for those who are Midlands based please support Colin Hill and Peter Griffiths who work tirelessly as a small club to run these two rounds.

Round 5 of the Championship will see us battling it out at the Mortimer Classic on the 7th of May. But we will also have several Greeves “Works” teams racing in the 100 miler team event on the Saturday such as Team “Greeves and Mortimer” and Team “Hawkstone Heroes”.

Pictured is the holeshot at Mortimer from back in 2007 and the team race from last years last session exiting the woods with me on board for Greeves and Mortimer”.

This will be a big weekend with the GRA hospitality suite and an expected big entry of riders, supporters with beers in the Marquee and Rob’s special BBQ (stand well back and douse him down if need be) on the Saturday night.

Rounds 6 and 7 see the two big Marks Tey events – the Memorial and the East Anglian grand National both events attract big Greeves entries and the Grand National many Scrambling Stars of the past and should not be missed.

After Round 8 Woodford – which is one of the best tracks to ride long and flowing and provides exciting racing we are off to Gosfield and then Maylandsea for the August Bank Holiday meeting before a new event at Benington Lordship near Stevenage Herts 16th 17th September – with pre65 Demo on the Saturday and Greeves Championship racing on the Sunday. The season wraps up with a final trip to Maylandsea round 12 and then the finale at Marks Tey.

From talking to riders in the offseason we expect an increase in entries so expect upwards of 35 Greeves Scramblers to thunder across the start lines this year making it THE premier Classic scrambling championship in the World.

It is always fun and friendly at the track and relaxed in the pits – come along race, spectate, chat and enjoy and revel in all things Greeves and make this the best Greeves Season ever for Dave Harper who puts so much into the series for all of us to enjoy.
