    • Craig....wot are these people like...... its very clearly a printing error...... or the cheeky lap scorers didn`t take u`r bribe..........
Either way, the main thing is to enjoy these meetings for what they are, great people, relaxed atmosphere, & a chance to be a kid again...........enjoy....

        Completely agree,
The people I met where all good friendly guys and I was the biggest child there.
As for relaxed, that was right up until the flag dropped

        • So here we go its the final round showdown at Marks Tey This Sunday

Time to dig out the Greeves(s) form the Garage again , clean them (only if essential) , fettle them , tune them , pander them - load them up - and make our way to Marks Tey for the season Finale ......................and a grand finale it will be ............ The Challenger and Hawkstone class winners look pretty clear with Father and Son combo Mike and Adam Bell respectively heading for wins...(Richard Hayward - somehow you are second in the Challenger class....maybe you should concentrate on Challengers rather than slaying Griffons )

BUT in the overall Championship and Griffon class it is all to play for - I don;t have the points from last round - or indeed know what points each rider will drop - but from the results and the assumption that Ricky and Matt V do the Weston Beach race - it probably is a 3 way dual for the overall championship with Matt McCulloch and Gary Smith fighting both each other and also to overhaul Ricky's Total as current leader.

Craig won't now make it - he is working abroad - but will race in Northern Ireland on the saturday

Hoping for another great turnout for the final meeting and some fast and close racing - as it always is at the last meeting - Thanks to many of the supporters who have come along throughout the season incl Brian Catt who will be there on Sunday with the big Lens to capture the action
          Cheers Kim

          • Had a very up and down year Kim as you are well aware of I always seem to get tangled up with you and you famous elbows lol.
But as we get ready for the finale of another year championship I find myself excited as I can't wait to line up along side my greeves championship pals but am not looking forward to a long winter without racing.
Without a doubt this is by far the best championship I have ever raced in and can't speak highly enough about everyone involved.
So I better get fitter over the winter and you might see me on my griffin next year who knows!!!!!

Please race the Griff next year! I might stand a chance in the Challenger class then, unless I break some more bones!
              Good luck on Sunday everyone.

              Cheers,
              Andrew

              • Well done lads

                Another great seasons racing.

I agree with Richard, A brilliant series.

It does seem that the rounds are not as well supported as they were, I myself are guilty of this also.. My first season 2007 I did nearly all the rounds and struggled to get 6th place, last year I did 3 rounds and got a 4th place in the challenger class.?

Consistency with machine reliability wins championships.. You have to keep scoring points..

I'm taking the 360 along for a blast, still annoyed I had to miss the august bank holiday event...

Kim Thanks for keeping us all up to date with the championship, your efforts are greatly appreciated....

Looking forward to catching up with you all Sunday

                Scott

                • Maybe next year we will be able to get the points published more regularly! And get more of the riders to join the GRA. From trackside, it looks a brilliant Championship, certainly the front runners are always racing flat out, even if some of the other classes have been a bit more relaxed.....
Richard, get yersel a Trials or Enduro bike and keep the wheels turning!

                  • Also need to get more of the riders to register for Championship points, Brian. There are several non-scoring good riders in the rounds.

                    • What a finale............all over now for another year

I will post some great action video of the last round today at Marks Tey - and do a full race report - but as an interim - here's a little taster...........

Some great individual performances from all down the field - whole day was led by Gary Smith, Matt MucCulloch and Sam Heitman - who were really pushing the pace at the front on a very good Marks Tey layout ........in the next wave Aaron Graves, Richard Hayward and myself .....and then also we had two brilliant (short lived) Cameo's from Rob Dickerson in RAce 1 and John Bathgate in Race 2.............mixing it up with the big boys

Results on the day Champ race 1 Gary, Matt M , Sam Heitman, Wayward Hayward , Myself Bob
Champ RAce 2 - GAry, Matt, Sam, Aaron I think, Wayward and Myself.

So form memory of the presentation .......Overall Gary and MAtt M overhauled Ricky W and MAtt Valentines totals and the championship ended as follows
                      1. Gary Smith
                      2. Matt McCulloch
                      3. Ricky Widdowson
                      4. Matt Valentine
                      5. Kim Morley
                      6. Richard Hayward
                      7. Mike Bell
                      8. John Bathgate

Griffon Class was as per overall championship with John Bathgate as 6th

                      Challenger Class
Mike Bell followed by Wayward and not so wayward Graeme Hayward and I think Scotty
                      Hawkstone Class
1st Adam Bell, 2nd Michael Eustace, 3rd Adrian Dickerson, 4th place Carl Harris, 5th John Runnacles, and 6th Scott Chappell (Thanks JR for modest correction and completing the picture !)

Brilliant Championship loved every bit of it - even the rain at Gosfield a la Somme .............the water splash at Stebbing , the dust at Sproxton, the rain sun shine rain sun shine at Maylandsea ..........brilliant pit banter at every meeting ...Great to see old friends returning and new ones joining the fold ........

Big Big Big thanks for Dave Harper and Geoff Nunn for organising a cracker Cheers Kim

                      • Great racing today in all the Championships, not only the Greeves one. I'll be doing some commemorative photos for each of the Greeves Class winners, once I get the TDS logo to add to the pics.

                        • Good meeting in smashing weather. Congratulations to Gary Smith on his Championship win.

Here's a shot of Gary (#70) leading the first championship race, and one of our MX correspondent Kim Morley (#275) in a close dice with Paul Graves (#288) on his BSA-engined machine in race two. The Griffon Slayer is also threatening on the inside line- all pretty hectic, eh Kim?

I have shots of pretty much every one of the Greeves contestants from yesterday. Can post a few on here if requested.

                          • Hi Colin, a great shot of the action with Kim, Aaron and Richard within a machine length of one another, looks like Des Burton and Punchy in the background also.

Have to concur with Kim's thanks to Dave and Geoff for running the series again, for without it I'm not sure how many of us would still be campaigning our Greeves!

A huge thank you to Kim also for keeping us up to date via his posts and video streaming links, no small commitment on his part I'm sure and all completed so positively and in good humour to boot.

Along with the Pre65 Clubs eight/nine meetings it seems that the Northampton Club are planning to hold Sproxton and Woodford again next season so we could be in for another bumper summer of competition!

Thanks to everyone for taking part and making the series so enjoyable.

First points race of the day - ends up in a battle between Gary Smith Matt McCulloch and Sam Heitman out front - finishing in that order.....with Richard Hay...

and here is the final points race and final race of the championship

Hope you enjoy - there is some close and exciting racing.......watch out for Richard slaying me in both - especially the first one - elbow to elbow stuff !! [Richard also had his helmet cam - so we should get another perspective soon !!

No problem, Kim, and could I add my thanks to you, as well as to all the others mentioned in Scott's, Richard's, your and Adrian's posts, for giving extra life to the Championship by your postings on this Forum and (dare I say it?) on "social media". You've earned your specialist role on the Committee by your sterling work this season! Thanks, too, to Colin and to Brian for support to the series, which must be the friendliest competition on the Planet!
