Not really a project yet, just a bit of fiddling to see if it's feasible.
Plunger BSA A10 gearbox will bolt straight to the back of a Challenger engine. Unfortunately the Nova 5 speed selector fouls the inside of the case (the later swing arm gearbox had a different selector mechanism)
I trimmed the case to allow the selector quadrant to swing through its full arc then whittled a block of aluminium to close the gap, this is now with the welder.
So I will have a 360 with a pre '54 gearbox shell with a '54-'62 sandwich plate and outer cover. Needle roller layshaft bearings and Nova close ratio 5 speed cluster. This ensemble will be nestled rather snugly in a MCS/2 (MDS) frame
