There are some good videos on a facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2232...ion_affordance I was particularly taken by a bike with a Norton Jubilee engine. Is it too late to put one (or a Navigator / ES400) in my embryonic Grumph? Probably, and probably outside my competence anyway.

No not at all Ian Go for it, the Norton Jubilee, Navigator or ES400 would probably be an easier fit and you would have a real special. I would go for the 350 Navigator or 400cc ES 400 though.

I think I'll stick to the Triumph version for Mark 1 but there could always be a Mark 2. I'll kepp my eye open for a suitable engine.....

You could always go for a 250cc Triumph Tigress scooter engine, there was one of these in the Scottish trial. BSA development dept even produced a prototype which Edward Turner was not amused about. http://www.bsaotter.com/tigress_in_y...amed_vera.html

I think the 3TA is as far as I want to go in the Meriden field. I remember when I was at school one of my wealthy classmates had a Tina. We took great delight in sabotaging the little switch that stopped it from pulling away if there was no-one on the seat.
