Very interesting, quite a hoard for one owner.
The East Coaster was last known with the later Richard Greensides of Winterton on Sea who died in May 2015. It was unrestored, just a rolling chassis, frame & wheels. From the Facebook comments https://www.facebook.com/groups/greevesenthusiasts/ it looks like the bikes have come into the ownership of one Andrew Kempton possibly a relative of Richard Greensides who I believe was a well known enthusiast in East Anglia & did have a large collection of bikes. Looks like they may all be up for grabs.
The 24TGS121 & 25DC247 are both in the coming Brightwells auction 8/6/16

    Note 60/3060 is a 25DB NOT 32DB

This must be the biggest hoard of Greeves bits in recent times, but not many complete bikes though. The Richard Greensides collection presumably. Keep the pics coming Brian

The owner is now posting pics of frames etc. that he cannot identify. Sprite and other comp bikes seem to be in there as well as all the Greeves bits.

Looks like the previous owner (Richard Greensides) had 'take to bits itus' & never got round to restoring anything. With 25 bikes dismantled & parts mixed up I hope the new owner will try to sort out which parts go with each bike & sell them off as individual bikes. To dispose of the parts separately will result in 25 Greeves (some rare early bikes) being lost

Here is my posting reporting Richard Greensides death, he was 67. http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...ead.php?t=5435

                  Richard Greenside bikes

I have spoken to Andrew Kempton about the Richard Greenside Greeves. Andrew is his son & has been left them. The completed or nearly complete bikes are going in the forthcoming Brightwells auction. The rest are all stripped down as parts but Andrew is trying to piece together some bikes to sell as projects (I have suggested he buys Colin's book to identify the various bikes & parts) There are no documents or V5's
Here is a list of what he still has (the auction bikes have been taken out)
                  59/1810 GREEVES 24SAS Hawkstone Special Scrambler 1959

Andrew also has lots of other parts so if you are looking for something give him a ring on 01493 285467 or 07876 161832 or email adyuk@hotmail.com
If emailing it will help to send a pic of the part you are looking for.
Andrew also has some other bikes, Sprite, DOT, Firefly, AJS37A etc.

Bit of a find? More like "hell of a waste" in my view.

To judge by the pictures it looks as if its all been well picked over already.

Some of the identifications are wrong, and presumably are from frame numbers from the stack of 'beams.

Sadly most of it is scrap.

Plenty of people out there piecing together parts such as this to make lovely ridable bikes.......

Harsh words indeed Colin, Having spoken to the current owner nothing has been 'picked over' or touched since the previous owner, Richard Greensides (a former GRA member I believe) died a year ago. Richard was apparently a compulsive buyer & never passed up the opportunity to buy any spares or bikes that were going. Its all been kept well stored in his house & out buildings. Whilst most of the Greeves bikes listed are far from complete there is a good possibility that they can be restored using the parts shown. In all honesty the current owner is not a motor cycle enthusiast or indeed a Greeves expert & is relying on others who do know to identify what bits go where. Anyone interested in a bike will need to go along and sort out the relevant parts for a chosen bike. Andrew would like to see as many of the bikes go as projects rather than sell the lot as spare parts. Which would probably be the easiest & most profitable line to take.
I think we need to wake up that these sort of hords are going to appear more regularly in coming years as owners pass on & leave their collection of bikes for someone to dispose of.

Hold on a bit Colin !! i thing scrap is a bit overreacting , there is a lot of useful stuff there as at Stafford there not a bit of Greeves at all ,except a bent frame and villiers nothing ,or barrels either. the lot wont last long i expect some dealer will hoover it up soon

Hi simon..... i suppose being a bulk buyer, you will be putting a tender in for the greeves stock?....... seriously though, if anyone wants a project to get their teeth into, then it looks like it`ll be a worth while trip to go over & meet this guy.
