My South American travels on the bike have bought me to Machu Picchu. There has been some hard riding and rough accommodation. Beautiful roads to ride on apart from the sleeping policeman that occur in every town and village. We have been in Cusco where there are alot of celebrations as it is independence day on the 28 July. I am now heading towards Lima via Ica.

Cusco to Nasca
No floods here but very cold and rainy over the high plateau on the road to Nasca last night. The journey should take eight hours but I found somewhere to stay as it was gettig dark and I still had away to go. Today it took 3 hours to cover the remaining 70km due to the switchbacks up and down the mountains. Stunning riding, but tiring as you need to stay focussed all the time, not much margin for error
