Chain oil filler neck cap loose

Hi. My recently acquired Anglian has a loose metal cap on the LH swing arm, chain oil filler neck. Obviously it's not going to stay in place, so what is meant to be there please?

A spring is hooked onto bottom end of the filler tube and hooked onto tab on filler cap. Use a screwdriver to hook spring to bottom end of filler tube.

New springs are Available at British bikes 1970 you will probably need the short one of the two listed
