  • Scottish 24TCS swinging arm.

Am I right in assuming my Scottish 24TCS, built late 1959 has the shorter swinging arm?
Reason I'm asking is that the silencer for the short swinging arm has two fixing points and there does not appear to be a fixing point on the rear frame for it.

    Cheers, John.

    S/A is 19 inches.
    No fixing point on frame.

Looks similar to one I used to have, John. Silencer mounting fell just right to share upper fixing point for the rear damper. Bolt for damper extended through to take the silencer too, suitably spaced. A second fixing point was to a bracket toward the rear of the upper rear sub-frame. That bracket is ""conspicuous by its absence" from your subframe. Will scan and send you pictures by PM. Hope they help?

ID:	92101 Here is a picture of a 24TCS showing the silencer with it's mountings. You will just need to make up a suitable lug and braze it in the correct position on the underside of the upper subframe. Ian C.

Ah, so mine does have the shorter S/A and takes the longer exhaust as I thought.
          Many thanks

          Cheers, John.
