  • Rim sizes, and tyres for road going trials bikes

This is my first effort at communication via the forum!!!
My `65 US TFS Trail is fitted with trials tyres and as I use it mostly on the road are considering fitting road tyres.
The rear rim is WM3 and the front (19") is WM2
Does anyone have experience of road tyres on the trials bike and what size tyres can I fit to these rims?
I had thought of a 3.50 on the rear and a 3.25 on the front
    Best regards to everyone
    Ken Wilson

    Tyres

Avon do a 300x19 ribbed Speedmaster which would do on front. You dont say what dia rear wheel is, if its 18 a 350 road tyre should be ok, if 19 you may be limited in choice.
Gearing will need to be upped to compensate for smaller overall dia rear.

      Rim sizes and tyre sizes

      Thanks John
      The rear wheel is 18"
My main worry was whether the rims would be too wide for the smaller tyres
      Regards Ken

The front will be OK, I am sure the rear will be ok for 3.50 x 18 tyres (the standard roadster is 3.25 x 18) but leave out the security bolt (in both tyres).
