  • Comparing rides

I took the Ranger and the TFS Trail out for a ride today. The Ranger with external springs on the front is a noticeably better ride particularly on the bumpy potholed Devon lanes. The gearing is also better for the lanes and probably that is due in part to the road sprocket fitted - I had one spare when putting the bike together. The only thing I want to change on the Ranger is the mikuni it came with, I prefer the Amal seems to start easier - maybe me though

That said they were both great to ride and I am sure my neighbours enjoyed the noise as well and the smoke

Not as comfy as the others as the pegs are higher and seat is a bit soft. It also needs a muffler as it is a little loud. Maybe I will make another one if the muffler for the Griffon works
