Am I right in thinking that original fixed footrests are a no-no and not allowed. I don't like the idea of changing mine to folding as it compromises the integrity in my opinion. Are there any exceptions when I could enter a trial with my bike as it is with the fixed footrests

They are folding for a reason I bought a reproduction foot peg assembly of Dave Harrison (Leading Link) and chopped that and had folding pegs welded on.
That way you have the original if you ever need it - though I doubt you would ever put the original back on.

Tony - modifying original type footrest system
Do you have any pictures of what you did as I would like to do the same to my '62 model 24TD which still has the original rigid footrests. Dont want to weld brackets onto the frame like others I have seen.
Any other thoughts from people who have done similar jobs much appreciated.Ian Wilkinson '61 Scottish 24TD118

24TD footrests
A photo of what you have done would be brilliant, many thanks. Only been a member of this Association since I bought the bike last December and the help that is given is just brilliant - must be the best owners association in the world!Ian Wilkinson '61 Scottish 24TD118
