    Hi All
    Wondering if anyone can help, the frame on my TES has been modified to steppen the steering. It is relatively easy to repair but I do need a measurment check.
    Can anyone measure the distance from the front fuel tank fixing to the top rear subframe fixing (Centre to Centre).

    Hi Stuart,
    I was going to PM you but then decided to leave the reply open in case anyone wants to contradict! The measurement you require on my 24TES (163 - '63 model, reg late '62) is 19 3/4 inches. It doesn't look as though the frame has been altered - in fact the whole bike is pretty original - and the wheel base is 52 inches which is, of course, the optimum wheelbase for trials and is what all the best trials bikes were so I'm sure that's how Greeves made them!

      52" Wheelbase is correct for a TES.

          19 3/4" would seem correct.

          I am intrigued to know how the steering angle has been altered without altering the relationship between the beam and the swinging arm.

          Good luck in restoring the frame.

              Bend the top tube? Or the 'beam (God forbid!)

              Either way you'd need new engine plates...

                Hi Both
                This TES frame has been altered by removing the bottom beam bolt. (engine plates)
                Cutting the top tube and adding about an inch (not done very well I might add)
                Pivoting the beam and steering head around the top beam bolt. (engine plates)
                Redrilling the bottom beam bolt (engine plates)

                Looks a mess and I intend restoring it to original spec.
                Thanks very much for the measurment, gives me a dimension to aim for when butting the top tube up. (with a sleeve up the inside of course)

                    Phil, Jean Sutton's Tri-Greeves was "adjusted" to get the engine in the desired location using the hot flame technique.
