  • Hawkstone 24SCS Gearbox ratios

    Hi,
    I have a 1960 Hawkstone 24SCS but some of the gearbox internals were missing when I acquired it! What I have is;

    Mainshaft 25T (High gear pinion) - Layshaft 17T
    Mainshaft 24T (D9227) - Layshaft 18T (E9229)
    Mainshft Missing - Layshaft Missing
    (would this be E9229 18T Mainshaft - Layshaft 24T D9228)
    Mainshaft 14T - Layshaft 28T (Ratchet wheel)

    Does this look about right for the ratios for the scrambler? if so where can I purchase the missing gears if they are still available? if not what would you recommend for suitable ratio/gears?
    Hopes this makes sense!

    Regards Mark

            Hi all, I have been told that this is a bit of mismatch of gearing which really isn’t a surprise as I couldn’t match the arrangement up with any parts book!
            Regards Mark
