  • 1958 9E Hawkstone-What size rear tyre was fitted?

    Hi,
Can anyone advise what size tyre was originally fitted to the above motorcycle.

I think it may have been a 4.00" but my father thought it was only a 3.50" due to restricted space in swinging arm.

    Cheers
    Neil

    Tyre Sizes For Hawkstones?

    Hi Neil,

I'm assuming your bike will be an 20SA (or 20SAS), but I have the info to hand for the original spec for a 24SCS Hawkstone, which was Dunlop 'Sports' (knobblies, obviously!) - F: 2.75 x 21" / R: 3.50 x 19"

I should think they'd be a similar size.... However, I'm sure other members will be able to advise on currently available tyres that will be suitable. Have a look at this thread for a bit more more info in the meantime; http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...ighlight=Tyres

Ok, this is for a 4.00 x 18 rear, but maybe Dunlop also do an equivalent (metric?) 3.50?

Over to the scrambles lads then!

    Brian.
