Mystery MDS project

These rough looking remains of an MDS have been shown on FB, owner Dani Coughhan of Northern Ireland is asking if anyone has any knowledge of it. Frame No 24MDS585 is stamped on side of beam, and there is a kink in the sub frame to clear exhaust. Some question about it being a works bike, Looks like its been hauled out of a river or peat bog.

If that photo, showing the frame number in completely the wrong place is anything to go by, the number is actually 24MDS 585


Neither 581 or 585 appear in the UK dispatch record. maybe it was exported to the Republic and has crossed the border, or maybe someone in the Greeves office thought Northern Ireland is a foreign country?

Can't see it being a works bike. More like a pile of scrap anyway.
