This lovely photo came as a bunch with many bigger machines from a Facebook page. It shows Mr. E.G. Stroud riding a 200 Greeves at an XHG Tigers meeting at Lyscombe Farm Cheslbourne, Dorset on 20th Oct 1957. He was a Mortimer member, but....
Today's quiz: Who was the race starter? Clue: he rode with a plate just below that on the Greeves.

Eric Stroud

A well known rider in the Southern Centre in the sixties. Equally known as a dealer being part of the Blackall, Wooten, & Stroud business in Theale, a mile or so from the Mortimer club's Bennett Hill circuit. I think they were Greeves agents at one time.

74 indeed. Derek rode the event, but Don acted as starter. Maybe he was out of action for some reason. Our Mr. Stroud was in good company being numbered alongside them and other top racers from the South-West.
