  • 24SAS frame geometry same as 24TAS ?

    Hi
I have a dismantled '59 24SAS which I would like to use for trials rather than scrambles. Does the frame have the same steering head angle as the 24TAS? I believe that the only additional parts that I would need would be the footrest sub-frame, exhaust system (which I don't have, so need to make/source anyway) and stand?
    Thanks
    John

The frame angle on a TAS is 61 deg between the centre line of the top tube and that of the beam. CL of beam is a line through the 3/16" hole at the top and both engine plate holes.

I don't have a comparison with the SAS at the moment.

However, the later SCS scrambler and TDS Scottish shared the same main frame according to the SCS parts book.

If you join the GRA, you can make use of the drawings to make the parts you need and half-yearly membership is available at this time of year!

    Hope this helps!
