On page 154 of Rob Carrick's book,it says Dick Clayton used a reed valve 250 in June 1972 "and the factory worked flat out to provide him with a 380 reed valve version"

yes thats whats giving me the idea this was the prototype but i have seen them fitted and challengers long stroke with a "DH" valve system
i was going to put one on the 500 or jkd engine 38mm port
