  • HELP Griffon rear hub

Please can somebody tell me what the rear hub offset is on my 69 griffon. I need to get my wheels to the builder so i can get to a rolling chassis stage.I couldn't take the measurement myself because the rim was buckled. Many thanks. Mick

    Head above the parapet time

I have in my head the thought that there is no off set. Because the hub is quite wide there is no need for an off set therefore the wheel would be built up centrally.

Any griffon owners care to assist...................

      Plan 2

Alternative idea. Set the hub up in the swinging arm with all the spacers in their correct location, ie chain line correct.

This should give you a good idea of where the rim should be. Try it.............

        griffon hub offset

Already thought about that Phil. Trouble is the engine is out of frame and i'm not sure if the spacers are correct. I bought the bike as a basket case so can't rely on anything being right. Need to get my hands on a workshop manual if they're available. I noticed in L/L that we have Dave Harper and Steve Humphrey as specialists on griffons, unfortunately there isn't an email address. Many thanks. Mick
