Can anyone tell me of any differences in the standard motocross barrel as opposed to the road race barrel, i am only guessing, but would imagine that they are ported to a different degree.
Are there any external differences, visually to tell. dave.

None of the road racers used a Griffon barrel, Dave.

The Silverstones were all long-stroke Challenger type, but with a steeper inlet tract, the Oulton a version of the 36MX4.

The porting was different from the scramblers of course because the required power and torque characteristics are entirely different.
