  • H And H Auction

    Hi all,

H&H are having an auction at duxford on the 23rd October.

Lots of interesting machines for sale, There is a lovely 360 MX4 included in the sale with an estimate of £4000 to £5000.

Also an ex works 350 goldstar scrambler, and quite a few more competition motorcycles going under the hammer.

    Auctions

The H & H auction at Duxford (as in passed years) is an up market affair aimed at the 'investor'. Mainly exotic cars & bikes, prices tend to be highly inflated as against Cheffins who aim more at the enthusiast market & have a better sale record. H & H aim at high prices, with many lots not making reserve. Someone has to pay for the canopies & champagne VIP pre sale evening & the expensive to hire IWM Duxford location.

Fair comment John, Im sure they are banking on a big price for Old Bill (Brough Superior)

But that said, if it sells for the price, its worth it to that person.

              H & H Auction motor cycle results

One of interest to Brian Catt is the late Dick Sutton's Cheney Triumph which went for a whopping £6832
This has been up for sale before & from what has been said previously I believe there is some doubt that it was actually Dicks bike. Over to you Brian.

I have tried to contact sellers at previous auctions with no joy. I will contact H&H with the offer to the new buyer of "period pics" to see if they will put me in contact.

                  Dick Sutton's Triumph

Strange that it keeps being re-auctioned which suggest speculator collectors trying to cash in their 'pension fund' This recession we are in seems to be breeding this kind of buyer.

Or could it be that the word is out and each owner is trying to pass it on before the there are no more mugs left?

                      Dick Sutton's Triumph

They are certainly not riding it as its been unlicenced since April 2010 and by the DoL shown (not first of month) I would think that is a change of keeper, so may have been 'off the road' some time before to that.
The vehicle details for LPM 22E are: (Its a Triumph according to DVLA)

This link make interesting reading http://speedtracktales.wordpress.com...umph-500-twin/ It was not sold in the previous H & H auction at Duxford on the 19th April 2012, hence why it came up again on 23rd October
