MX1 frame-was alloy beam painted?

Hi All,

Whilst trying to remove the hammerite from the alloy part of the frame today, there seemed to be another, very hard-to-remove layer of silver paint underneath.

Was the alloy section painted from new, or was it just bare alloy?

Always in the natural state - bare aluminium .

I'll have to have it vapour blasted, as the paint won't come off with paint stripper!
