  • Essex Twin 25DD Fibreglass Tank Etc.

    Hi All,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm seeking info on the Greeves Essex Twin Mk 2. 25DD.
I see that this one is not recommended due to the fibreglass tank and the problem with the ethanol in current fuel.
If the tank is coated with a suitable liner, will this be a long term fix.
I'm asking because I'm interested in buying one but don't want to buy a bike that I won't be able sell 5 years down the line if I choose to sell.
Also, what would be a realistic price to buy one in very good condition.
Another also. I have frame and engine numbers but how can I check these out.

I had a RE 2t back in the day but always liked these but couldn't afford one.

    Thanks Paul.

Tank sealing is not really a satisfactory solution, as the oil will have penetrated. Only real solution is to cut open tank and fit an alloy inner. An Essex in good condition and original should be had for around £3000 to £3500. Give me a ring on 01223 843802
