  • East Coaster LBP 419D - where is it now

Anyone got an East Coaster LBP 419D in their shed it has been untaxed since 01 May 1990. Its a Sussex registration, was last seen in August 1984 at a GRA Rally in Cheltenham & was owned by a GRA member Mervyn Atkins.
This could be frame number 25DC450B dispatched to Beamish Motorcycles, Portslade, Sussex on 10/12/65. It would appear to have been the last EC sold by them or indeed via a Sussex dealer. This frame number is not currently known to me.
The trials bike 626 ADD is still around on SORN

    East Coaster LBP 419D

Good news & bad news on this one.
Bad news is that Mervyn is no longer with us he died in 1997
Good news his East Coaster survives with a relation & at present stored in his shed. So another one on the register

The First Ever GRA ride out

The first ever GRA ride out was part of our first GRA gathering in Cheltenham in 1984. Organised by Dave Hawkins, it was a meeting of Greeves riders from far spread places. Ray Goodright rode his Tri-Greeves up from Cornwall.
We had a bike jumble and a ride out also some trophies for best bike and longest travelled.

The attached picture shows the start of the ride out around leafy Cheltenham.
      Riders ... right to left.
Dave Hawkins, Ray Goodright, Rod Slade, Mervyn Atkins and Colin Ladd.
Dave no longer has a Greeves, he is a Vespa guru.
      Is Ray still a member?
It was a really good day, the First GRA gathering.

It is sad that Rod, Mervyn and Colin are no longer with us.

Nice pic Keith, I take it that Dave Hawkins was the owner of the Scottish 626 ADD. Dave was not on the last members list published in LL. Wonder of he still around & still has the bike.

No, other way round John. Right to left. Dave bough the 25DB from me, was UDW 714. Colin is on the far left with the Scottishy bike 626 ADD.
