Hole in LL forks

Does anyone know why there is a small hole & welded in spacer on the right hand side link on the 25DC forks. Not the larger dia. one on the gusset plate which is for the brake anchor rod.

Hi John,

It locates the backplate on the 25 DC with paddle hubs . The backplate has a tab welded to it which lines up with the tube.

Thanks Brian, looks like they did not remove it on later models as pics of 4T engined 25DD & 25DC with alloy full width hubs as shown on the Greeves book page 121 have the fixing hole.
