  • Suzuki Cobra engined Greeves

With ref to the piece in LL October on the Suzuki Cobra engined Greeves that was sold in auction ealier this year. A check on its reg. No BBP 550B on the DVLA web site reveals that it is still not licenced. One would have thought the new owner would want to be riding it. Maybe as Colin says its gone to a dealer, or even broken for spares. Strange its not surfaced though even as a 'trailer queen' at shows.
Looking at the DVLA printout it is listed as a 250cc & colour Black so may have originally been a 25DC East Coaster although 1964 is a bit early the EC not being available in UK till 1995. Maybe the new owner is having problems convincing the DVLA of the engine change. BBP is a West Sussex registration

The vehicle details for BBP 550B are:
    Date of Liability 01 08 1994
    Date of First Registration 08 07 1964
    Year of Manufacture Not Available
    Cylinder Capacity (cc) 250CC
    CO2 Emissions Not Available
    Fuel Type Petrol
    Export Marker Not Applicable
    Vehicle Status Unlicensed
    Vehicle Colour BLACK

Its now around 8 months since this was sold in H J Pugh's auction at Ledbury for a hammer price of £1700 (little money), but checking the DVLA web site is still not taxed. Did a GRA member buy it? If so howabout telling us about it. Hope it has not gone into someones 'investment fund'
