  • clutch case oil level

My RES is fitted with the later primary case that is fitted, I think, to the Challenger.
It has a drain plug at the bottom and a filler plug on top. What is the correct oil capacity please?

The Greeves General Data Sheet GMC 43 for the Challenger 24MX3 gives 1/4 pint (0.3 U.S. pints) of oil for the Primary case. Hope that helps, Tony?

Thanks John. Sounds good to me.
The service notes and the other GMC I have say 'keep to level' but don't say what the level is.

I have the same primary case on my RDS. The drain plug is actually a level plug. Make sure both wheels are on the deck and fill the case until it comes out of the level plug. 1/4 pint sounds about right though. It is only the bottom run of the chain at the clutch drum that runs in the oil.
