I started my racing on a second hand 1975 German girlie, 250cc yellow tank and mudguards. Good point, handling. Bad point, gearbox selector arm.
Wish I had one now.
Like u Craig I started with a foreign lady . In my case a Spanish lady . Fast exotic and very exciting to ride ..... But enough of my holiday romance though ..... The 1978 Montesa Cappra 250 was pretty good fun too !!
Kim...Reminds me of one of my holiday experiences...this one italian though....lovely pair of headlights......but a wobbly back end!..... those vespas were nothing but touble....
I first started on a Canadian then moved onto Chinese
Nothing to do with Can Am or Sukida, First wife from Nova Scotia second wife from Beijing.
I am riding a Japanese one at the minute, bit of a thumper but pulls like a train.
What are you going to do for ignition? I have a pile of dead Motoplat and it seems to be throwing good money after bad to have them repaired. I am trying to persuade Peter up at Electrex to make a unit suitable for the later Griffons.
I have this ignition on my Anglian and also on my racing TZ Yamaha and I am very pleased with it.
Hello Rob, I have not tested the motoplat's I have for the two bikes but they are probably dead so I am in for ordering two sets from Peter if that helps to persuade him to make some.???
Nothing better than a big fat dependable blue spark. Well, not many things better.
Fraulines may have some hairy disadvantages - but they know how to wire proper racing ignitions..........see Terry @TDS for a real spark that fits your griffon's !!
My ignition of choice if I don't need lights is PVL. It is an internal rotor type and you can buy the rotor with a pilot bore to machine to your requirements
