Thank you for allowing me to join this forum.
I left Formby, Liverpool in 1974 and have lived in New Zealand ever since. As I boy I raced a Triumph Tiger Cub at grass track events. I did have various British bikes over the school years as they were very cheap as I recall, it seemed that most back gardens had an old carpet draped over a machine that had been forgotten.
A friend of mine raced a Greeves Griffin and a Greeves Challenger, I would have progressed to scrambles riding had my family not moved away.
I have had too many machines to list over the years, currently own a 1970 Bonneville, a 72 Commando, and a 1961 Dot 32a engine under restoration.
I have been doing track days on a 2008 R1 Yamaha until recently; I was involved in a crash resulting in me braking both ankles. Six months later, I am now able to get back to the shed so things are looking up.
I will no doubt benefit from this group while I am restoring the Dot, and who knows I may buy another bike in the near future.
