Ian and Rob have truly done the club proud I reckon! I will check in daily too, good idea. Further, Ian mentioned to me in an email that (quote);
"Also there are three test users, called:
Mr Basic Member
Mr GRA Member
Mr Committee Member
I'm using these to test how the forum appears to the different usergroups, so if you see them don't be surprised!"
I think that this means I can't upload a suitable Avatar for my profile for the time being-like yours though!!!

Great pic Colin! You could have found somewhere with a decent view though...!!! (It opened ok for me by the way.) Cool feature!
I've had a trawl through the 'Thompson Galleries' and all mine are too big (average 2.7MB...!!!!) I've obviously been using the wrong setting on the camera all this time and will need to re-size them (doh!)
It's all a learning curve isn't it?!!
Thanks for sorting the Avatar upload Ian-just need a suitable pic now. I assume there is there a size limit on that too?

Colin - not sure why it's not working - is the black box coming up?
Brian - you haven't been using the wrong setting - always capture photos in the highest setting possible, as this will make a big difference if you have prints made.
There is a free image editor available here:
(click the first green "Download now" link - it's safe)
If you can get that installed I'll give you some pointers. Resizing is easy. There is a size limit on image attachments, but only because there is a limit on the size of our web hosting!!

Thanks for that Link Ian, nice one!
You have my complete trust when you say it's safe, but as I'm getting a few warnings on download and have an alternative I'll try that first.
I've got Sony PMB on my laptop which has a resizing option and I'm having a play with that (for the first time too!) Cheers for the help though Ian, and I'll holla if I get stuck!
The 'black box' appeared for me when I clicked on Colin's pic, if that helps?

Thanks Ian, that sounds like a good idea for all us Whitworth spanner throwers!
I'm really enjoying all this! It's fun learning new IT skills, and I'm already getting more out of my computer and using new things.
I realised after my last post what was happening with the pages (doh!) so thanks for confirming it. That's what's good about getting a few posts up and seeing how things work etc.
