My name is Tim Bruce. I am restoring my 24TFS Scottish and hope to be trialling and displaying it later this year. I am in Eastbourne. The bike is coming on well, the only work I have had to farm out is blast cleaning the engine top end and the engine cradle. I'm going to have a go at rebuilding the wheels myself, I will update on the progress later, and get some pictures up when I sus out how to upload them. Just sprayed the frame in Landrover Marine Blue, (had it left over from painting bits on my Landy), and the steel tank in silver from Poundland aerosols! (looks great, just got to clear laquer it to petrol proof it).

        Hi Tim, and welcome aboard.

By the way, how much did that silver paint cost....? Look forward to seeing some pics in due course, sounds great.

You'll need to be a full GRA member and send Rob a PM (Private Message)to upgrade you on here in order to upload pics. Worth it though, as it will give you access to the 'members only' areas of the forum, including a TFS factory parts book you can download if you need one and much more useful info. Just holla if you need any help.

        Hope you enjoy the forum!

        Brian.

          Hi Tim,

I've had good success with Autotec's Petrol Resistant lacquer on my Pathfinder tank.

              Hi Tim,

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of Greeves ownership - as you will find there is never a dull moment on here!
              Plus a wealth of expertise.

I'm sure I saw a pic of a TFS with a Land Rover blue frame on facebook - was that yours?

              Cheers,
              Andrew

                  TFS the best

                  Tim

Great to hear you have a TFS. Possibly, the best trials bike. Even better when fitted with banana forks. Mine has a Triumph engine for good measure.

Lots of info available via the club. Welcome

Tim - welcome. I've very recently become a GRA member with a 1960 TDS Scottish and live in Brighton, well Hove actually!!

Its very worthwhile joining the GRA for the specialist help & advice that is available via the members area of the Forum & magazine, especially back issues. In addition Chairman Rob T lives nearby and is the Genie with the magic lamp when it comes to restorative fettling!

Tim - you are upgraded! Welcome to the forum. As has been said, I am not that far from sunny Eastbourne if I can be of help. I hold the engineering drawings if you need to make anything. Don't forget to send Phil H your frame number for the register! Come and join us playing in the mud!
