Can anyone please explain how to edit or delete a profile image

Hi Stuart. If you click on your name on the top right of the screen, you can go into your profile. I have just done that on mine, and over my little picture is a link saying 'edit avatar'. Click on that and it takes you to where you can do the editing. By the look of it, if you simply want to delete the existing one, the option of the default avatar should I imagine achieve that. Hope that helps.
