hello i have a pre 65 with a Villiers 250 32A engine and a Amal S22 carb my question is what is the optimum needle jet length to start with after a full carb strip and clean its the sort with the spring / jet then friction grub screw for adjustment. ( did not realise it was multi adjustable sort with no tiny c clip ) thanks for any help

Hi Simon. The S22 is a Villiers carb, not an Amal. According to the Roy Bacon book "Villiers Singles & Twins", the 32A engine should have the Villiers S25/2 or /5 carb, not an S22. Needle set-out for the S25/2 or /5 carb is then 1.85 inches. Hope this helps?
