The reason he has done that is because he is a learner, and as such you can only ride an up to 125cc bike on a provisional licence. Crazy rule as most other classes of licence are set by the bhp of the engine. Ironically the Chinese 125 engine gives out more bhp than the Villiers 9E it replaces.
The frame beam with a 60/25** number is apparently from a 24DB Sports Single although it looks like fork loop is trials/scrambles

Not the first 125cc engine fitted to a Greeves this 1960 125cc Greeves 24TCS/Puch hybrid Reg. No. OVE 2M, frame No. 60/1748, originally registered YVE 247 and sold by Claude Scott of Cambridge with the original 250cc Villiers engine to Clem Birmingham living locally near Cambridge. In 1973 it was acquired by a Cambridgeshire GRA member Roger Neal as a rolling chassis with no engine, he fitted the 125 Puch engine from a road bike it was re-registered OVE 2M due to lost paperwork. Some years later it surfaced with Dave Scotney another GRA member from Huntingdon still with 125 Puch engine. On his death it was sold as a restoration project at Cheffins Auction 19/10/13 for £720. The bike has never surfaced since. The 125 Puch engine has also been fitted to Pathfinders as a replacement for the 170cc unitLast edited by John Wakefield; 27/05/2021, 09:48 AM.
