You will probably be aware of the sad passing of Alec Wright by now.
Please see below the mail received on the website. Note particularly the last paragraph - how true is that!!
Very sad news on the passing of Alec Wright a great friend to
motorcycling enthusiasts for many years. I worked for Alec back in the
mid 70's when he ran Competition Developments and Kawasport prior to him
moving on to head up Kawasaki's Motocross exploits on the international
stage. I owe my love of motorcycling to Alec and his former sidecar
jockey John Gazeley. Through Alec I had the privileged to meet many
icon's of the motorcycle world including the late Don (DR) Smith and
Bill Wilkinson who I saw again this past summer in Kettlewell after some
35 or so years.
For those who believe in the great beyond, if Alec and DR meet up again
on the other side of the Pearly gates heaven will never be the same!
Rest In Peace Alec.
