I have just learned, looking at the Fenman Show website, that Rob Carrick has finally lost his long battle with the cancer which had afflicted him for some years. He died at the end of July; the funeral was last week.

Rob collaborated with the late Mick Walker to write the "original" Greeves book back in 1988. He was a good friend of Greeves and the GRA and was the originator of the Fenman Show which takes over his home village of Wimbotsham each August Bank Holiday Monday.

    Rest in peace Rob.

A sad loss. Rob was not only knowledgeable on Greeves, his 'Greeves' book is still a sort after item as the high prices on eBay will testify, but he was also well versed on Villiers engines, his book 'Villiers Everybodies Engine' has become the Villiers 'bible' with a comprehensive appendix listing the various types & makes of engines and to whom they were supplied. I had corresponded with Rob many times over Greeves & Villiers matters. I knew he was ill but had not realised he had passed away. RIP Rob.

      Rob Carrick.

      Very sad news indeed......

As has been said, Rob was a highly respected and knowlegable enthusiast, and a really nice bloke, not to mention a stalwart champion of Greeves and Villiers and a great friend to the GRA.

Condolances to the family at this difficult time.

      Brian.

        Villiers Technical Specialist

I have noticed that Rob Carrick is still listed as the Villiers Engines Technical Specialist in LL. I have informed John Henry the editor of Robs death so as to get it removed. Obviously members should not write the address or send emails.
