The Mayfield was the dogs doodahs compared with the open megga, but weighed about 5 times that of the open pipe. As above, the welding was not good and splits and disintegration was one of the problems along the way. A lot of them were re-made or simply repaired by owner. If you were serious about noise, a circular plastic device was added to the end that dropped the db count for a race or two before it disintegrated.Comment
