Greeves, as a company manufacturing and selling spares and replicas is never going to make anyone a millionaire, especially in the current financial situation. The new trials bike may have had potential, but would have needed millions spending in development work. There is no way that a small outfit like greeves can compete with the financial muscle of HRC (Montessa) and Fantic etc.
Ideally the spares side should be taken by someone like Simon at Nametab. As for manufacturing complete bikes, maybe small economical commuter bikes could be bread and butter. Replica silverstones and oultons may have a market in classic racing circles.

The website does no favours to Greeves, It needs to have facilities to buy online

The only way you would make money out of selling small economical commuter bikes would be to badge engineer Chinese built 125's with Greeves badges as has been done with AJS http://www.ajsmotorcycles.co.uk/new_AJS/docs/main.htm

The twenty or so replica Anglians were a bit of a disappointment. Well executed with some poor choices of components. Hardly a recipe for success. No doubt there are a few Millenium models salted away as investments....

It says extended premises not new, it could be he`s trying to big it up a bit to get some interest on the sale....

There's a large unit behind his house, further down the drive. Just down the road from the best tea room in Essex (Butts Green Garden Centre).
And NO - Griding is NOT an Essex thing!
RJD was born a few days after me - our mothers had the same midwife - so at 70 I can understand he would like to retire, but the asking price hardly took account of the alleged debts, let alone those that I believe have now been written off.

                            Value

Surely, the Greeves brand is worth exactly what Mr Deal paid for it! ie, nothing.

Phil are you saying that in effect a Greeves bike is now worth the same as it was in 1999 (the year Richard Deal bought the name)
