So I have chosed to run 40:1 premix with a good quality oil.
Original main jet is a 140, which smokes like I have fitted tactical counter mesaures at WOT. This is just reving it out in the garage not under load yet. On the pilot / needle there is little smoke, so I am reading this as too rich on the main jet?
I appriciate going to 40:1 will make it it rich on fuel. So I am thinking to get 120 and 130 jets to try. From those more experienced with this engine (32a trials) are these steps too big, too conservative?
