Villiers in Challenger Exhaust

Hi all.
My Challenger rebuild is coming on great but I have now made it to the exhaust. For info I have fitted a 250cc Villiers 32A engine and wish to use the bike for light road & green lanes.
I have a front pipe from Villiers services.
Question is this :- Do I need an expansion chamber in the exhaust or could I run straight to a silencer.......also where could I source a cutom exhaust or silencer ??? I live idn Derby and cannot travel too far.
