Unable to undo drain plug on 9E gearbox.

Hi all,
I don't seem to be able to undo the drain plug on my 9E engine gearbox.
Am I correct 3/16 is the correct size spanner? Will it be easier to remove after the engine is warmed up?

Use a good socket on it,not an open ended spanner,after warming it up with a blowlamp.Dont put too much heat on it.Try WD40 first and leave for a few hours.Try tapping the socket bar with a hammer but dont overdo it.
