2t engine

Hi I have part of a 2t engine mainly the crank and cases along whith the pistons. Is it normal to have cut outs on the side of the pistons? All the parts list ect that i have seen have shown the pistons without. The pistons i have are made in england with 2 cut outs behind the g pin. Has anybody seen this type of piston?

I think the pistons are 4T not 2T. What is the dia of gudgeon pin?
The 4T has a 5/8 inch dia, 2T is smaller, 1/2 inch I think. The bottom end would therefore be 4T as well. Can you post a pic & I can confirm.
