36MX4 rebore

Hi all
Barrel is getting a rebore to suit new 20+ piston. Engineer doing the work has enquired as to the piston clearances (to barrel). Im presuming he is referring to top & skirt if they differ. Anyone know this information?

For a 66mm bore the clearance should be 0.04 to 0.05mm

Are you sure? 0.05 (or 1.5thou) sounds a bit tight. I took a look at the Hepolite document. I think the clearance should be 0.04 - 0.05 mm per inch of bore. For a 66mm bore this would be near as dammit 0.113 mm or 4 -5 thou. I used to run my Silverstone at 4 thou. Of course, as usual, I could be wrong.

........ and the 36MX4 has a bore of 80mm at std, not 66mm, of course.
