Factory Drawings/Parts Fabrication.

Yes indeed, the cleaner they are, the easier the mud washes off!
Regarding getting parts fabricated Andy, you could try contacting Rob and see if a factory drawing exists in the GRA archive for the footrest parts you are reffering to.
You'll need a factory parts book for your bike though, to look up the specific part number(s) that the assembly consists of (where there may be more than one component.) Factory drawings were usually done for each seperate part of a sub assembly, and then one was done that showed the complete assembly (usually designated 'w/assembly'.)
Armed with a set of drawings for the parts(s) you need, it's then a matter of tracking down a good engineering firm near to you and see if they can do it. It's always well worth asking the GRA spares suppliers as listed in 'LL', as they can often advise and in some cases even supply certain items other than the parts listed. I'd try contacting the spares coordinator Adrian Dickerson in the first instance and go from there.
