250cc 2-stroke racing machine, frame no. 24RAS171
The current owner writes:
“I recently purchased 24RAS171 from the original owner Richard Marquis who purchased it in 1964 from Nicholson Motors, the USA West coast Greeves distributor. The Silverstone had all the original equipment and apparently was not raced much. There was light corrosion on all the metal parts, the foam in the seat was bad and the engine was seized and had congealed Castrol R which made disassembly difficult but the only items that needed replacement were the crankshaft main bearings, piston rings and the shift lever return spring. Presently doing a cleanup and some zinc plating of fasteners.”
