  • Coming in for a Chat?

Mike's right about email threads getting too long and off-topic.

I reckon this is a better place for chattering, "did you hear the one about", etc.

Really must see about getting everyone who can signed up.

By the way, folks, I get much of my LL material from members by email, so there are some computer users among the GRA membership. I reckon there will be a reasonable number of takers once the forum goes live.

    Talk to you soon.

Shear guess work of course but the committee are probably representative of the membership as a whole.

Yes, and judging by the number of enquiries that are coming through the website, this is the way things are going.

Seem to get quite a few membership enquiries too.

About half the membership then, say 350 potential members.

I hope they don't all post at once!

A recent trawl through the membership list published in 'LL' last October reveals 230 plus members with email addresses.

This may have grown (or dropped!) since of course, but with a good number of enquiries received via the website as Rob says, it sounds as though there should be a viable number of users.

Adrian Dickerson informed me recently that the Pre65 MX Club have around 150 subscribers on their forum. Perhaps some of them may sign up for the GRA forum as well.

With some appropriate advertising it could also attract other Clubs members as well, i.e. BTSC, etc, especially if it becomes a good source of information on related subjects, like Villiers engines for example.

          Just a few thoughts.....

          Brian.

The MG ZT 260's forum has 647 members, of which 238 are "active" - which means they post occasionally (or a lot!)

That level of activity generates 25-35 posts a day.

The amount of technical information which has built up is, frankly, incredible, and because the forum is searchable you can go back through the threads and find out answers to problems easily.
