  • Odd air filter on this 24TE

    The air filter is unusual on this 24TE owned by FB member Christian Thibaut, the front hub also has a non standard torque arm, it should anchor directly with the forks, but brakeplate is incorrect for front, looks like a rear one with cut down torque arm
    The owner is also asking what make are the barrel and head. Obviously not Greeves DMW has been suggested. Shame about the large dent in tank

    My guess would be a cut down DMW head and barrel.
    Air filter shroud looks locally made.

      Front brake plate looks to be correct except that original tab has been moved and re-welded to new position to allow brake to "float" independently of the bottom loop. Original fixing point for the short tab is evident on the loop.

        Looks to have been modified to be fairly competitive (except for the forks). The 'floating torque arm' mod works well and makes heavy braking feel a lot better as the forks dip slightly rather than rising, but the brake plate has to be modified to have a bush through the spindle hole to rotate on
