Latest hair puller...We are all up and running now (the MX4) albeit with an extremely frustrating starting issue.
A couple of kicks from cold will start. However after a brief run up and down the road it refuses to fire up again. Won't idle. Only way to restart is to remove the plug which is wet..dry it..and refit. Fuel mix is 20:1(good quality full synthetic)as its a fresh rebuild. Carb set up - as notes with 25 pilot, rather than 30. But have tried both.
Anyone had a similar experience??
Current thinking is possible float too high? But how high is too high? The bowl doesn't have a drain so setting up a rig to check fuel level would be difficult so thought I would try checking the float height instead (plastic float+viton needle which I had replaced). By my research top of float to top of bowl should ideally be 0.21" plus/minus 0.04. (4.5-6.5mm range).
Would love to hear anyone else's diagnosis.
