  • Challenger MX-2 gearbox studs

    Hello all,
can someone tell me the length of the 4 studs including the length of thread that secure the gearbox to the engine please. Previous owner had fitted screwed rod.
I know that the engine end of the stud is BSW. What thread is on the opposite end?
    Cheers

I have a drawing of the stud but cannot post it here because of file size limitations. If you want to PM me your email address I'll send it to you. The drawing I have is for a 5 speed cam barrel gearbox, but if I tell you that the stud "tunnel" length on this gearbox is 4.17 inches you should be able to calculate the correct length for your gearbox (if it is different) quite easily. The stud has a 5/16 Whit thread at one end 0.625 inches long and a 5/16 BSF thread at the other end 1.25 inches long. The centre, non-threaded section is 3.96 inches long.

      Thanks for the reply Kevin,
The stud tunnel length is slightly longer than yours but I’ll make them to suit.
      Cheers
